How do I become a substitute teacher for Edustaff? What are the steps in the hiring process?

To apply for a substitute teaching position online, first access Edustaff’s job board. Select the districts/positions you would like to apply for. Once you have made your selections, click “Start Application.”

Following the completion of the online application, you will be guided to select and attend a workshop and submit any necessary documentation to fulfill the requirements at the workshop. Upon verification by our processing team that you have satisfied all necessary requirements, you will receive an approval notification and be eligible to start accepting assignments.

The requirements for becoming a substitute teacher vary depending on the state in which you intend to work. Edustaff’s comprehensive guide to state-specific requirements covers the education, licensing, and background clearance requirements for different states. 

No. Edustaff’s application process is strictly online. You can access our online job board to start your application today. 

Any forms that you cannot sign electronically can be uploaded to your employee account under the “Submit Documents” tab.

If you have already initiated an application and wish to proceed, you may log back into your account on https://account.edustaff.org/auth/login/ to log in and resume your progress.

To access your approval status, please log in to your employee account. Once logged in, navigate to the “Access” tab on the left side of the screen, then select “Organizations & Positions” from the drop-down. In the box located to the right titled “Approval Status,” you will be able to view your current status. For detailed status information regarding each district and/or position, click on the respective district name/position.

The approval timeframe varies based on the state and the specific positions for which you are applying. Each state has unique requirements that must be met, in addition to any specific criteria for the positions. To speed up the process, ensure the timely submission of credentials and completion of any necessary background checks.

To access your employee account, please navigate to the account login page. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password to proceed.

To initiate a password reset, please follow these steps:

1. Visit your employee account login page.
2. Choose the option “Forgot Password.”
3. An email containing a link to reset your password will be sent to the email address associated with your Edustaff account.

To add additional districts and/or positions to your employee profile, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Navigate to the “Access” tab on the left side of the screen, then select “Organizations & Positions” from the drop-down.
2. Click on the “+ Add Organizations or Positions” option.
3. Locate and select the organization or positions you wish to add.
4. After adding them, you will notice the pending request displayed at the top of the page.
5. An Edustaff representative will review the request along with any pending requirements before approval.

Typically, Edustaff operates on a bi-weekly (every other week) pay schedule, though this can vary by district. Access our complete list of pay schedules and navigate to your respective district at the bottom of the page to view the pay schedule for your compensation.

All employees are eligible to enroll in our preventive-only medical insurance plan. Enrollment is available to both new hires and existing employees annually during the open enrollment period. Many Edustaff employees also qualify for 401(k) benefits and additional health insurance benefits, including dental and vision.

While you may be providing services within the school district, it’s important to note that Edustaff serves as your official employer.
